Around the World Series

I’m so excited to share with you Eli’s elementary adventures around the world!
Over the course of the year, I’ll share each of the country studies we do. You will always be able to find an updated list of the posts in this category by clicking on this image in the sidebar.
Keeping On Track as We Travel
Every new study will have some consistent elements: geography/mapping, current culture, bits and pieces of history, current country flag, missionary tie-in, science (usually relating to animals and their habitats), literature/fables, art, cooking, and technology. Below are the resources that will be used regularly in our lessons.
Geography and Culture
Ultimate Sticker Book: Flags of the World
Around the World Coloring Book
Discovery Kids Activity World Map
Missions and Science
Missionary Stories with the Millers
The Usborne Illustrated Encyclopedia: The Natural World
Literature and More Culture
Multicultural Fables and Fairy Tales
National Geographic Kids Beginner’s World Atlas
Art and Cooking
Global Art: Activities, Projects, and Inventions from Around the World
Technology
My iPhone has been coming in handy every.single.time. we sit down for lessons. YouTube videos, quick image searches, listening to music or musical instruments – when Eli has a question, we just search. Wow. Homeschooling this little guy has certainly been different than my older two at this age. What an exciting way to learn!
Looks like it’ll be a fun series! (But I have to admit that with the MLB playoffs starting tomorrow, it was your title that made me click over from my RSS reader–World Series!)
Hahahaha…Jeremy, that cracked me up!
