Chinese Food and an Historical Craft

Chinese food and craft from Chinese unit study

Chicken Low Mein and (store bought) Egg Rolls made a yummy supper.  While a brief history of Chinese lanterns and a simple construction paper craft made for an easy activity.

Science Connection

Panda Lapbook from Homeschool Share

Homeschool Share came through once again with a wonderful {free} lapbook to help make our science connection.  Pandas are the perfect animal to learn about in a Chinese unit study.

Math Connection

Tangrams and Literature

Tangrams are a hands-on puzzle that originated in China.  We had fun reading Three Pigs, One Wolf, Seven Magic Shapes then using tangrams to retell the story.  Lots of free tangram puzzles can be found here.

And, the movie we enjoyed this week was Mulan.  Be warned that you will need to talk much about the false religion clearly portrayed in this movie.

Gosh, there’s so much more we could have done!  Visit my Cindy's Around the World Pinterest Page for more ideas.
