At No Sweat Nature Study, we’re committed to making science both academically strong and creatively engaging. Each class is thoughtfully designed to meet science learning goals for students in grades 1–8 through the lens of nature study and nature journaling.

This page explains how our on-demand classes align with educational standards and outlines the process for requesting documentation.

What’s Included in the Standards Alignment?

Each No Sweat Nature Study class comes with a Learning Record — a single-page document that outlines:

  • Scientific topics and skills covered
  • Applicable science standards (including NGSS and common state standards)
  • Lesson-specific learning objectives
  • Cross-curricular connections to other subjects, such as writing, art, geography, and research, when appropriate to the lesson

There are over 175 Learning Records available — one for each class. See a sample here.

Why It Matters

Whether you’re a parent using ESA funds or an educator coordinating with a charter or co-op, we understand the importance of educational accountability. These Learning Records provide clear, organized information to help meet the requirements of:

  • Charter school purchasing and reporting
  • ESA and state reimbursement documentation
  • Co-op curriculum approvals
  • Homeschool record-keeping, particularly for portfolios

How to Request Learning Records

Each class includes a Learning Record, available for parents and teachers to download directly from the class resource page.

If you’re a charter school representative, ESA coordinator, or co-op leader needing Learning Records for review or approval, we’re happy to help. Please complete the form below with the titles of the classes you’re reviewing, and we’ll promptly send the relevant documentation.
