What I’ve Learned The Third Time Around
Posted by Cindy on January 30, 2007
Three babies. You’d think I’d pretty much learned it all by now, wouldn’t you? On the contrary! I think I’ve learned more this time around, and believe it or not, what I’ve learned has nothing to do with babies.
I’ve learned that taking meals to people REALLY means something to them and IS AN IMPORTANT MINISTRY. It not only takes the load off of them when life is hectic (or sad, or rough), but lets them know that they are important to others and others really care for them.
I WILL NOT hesitate anymore to make a meal or take a treat to someone in need. Someone who’s lost a loved one, someone who’s just had a baby, someone who’s been in the hospital, someone who’s going through a trial. They need the nourishment both physically and emotionally. Their family needs it, too.
It’s easy to think that you don’t want to “bother” the family in need. It’s easy to think that they surely must have too many meals as it is. It’s easy to think that you just don’t have enough time to prepare a meal for yourself and someone else. All of those reasons are just excuses and I won’t be bothered with excuses any more!
I’m so thankful to have wonderful friends and family who have taught me such a valuable lesson!! Thank you!
