Father – Daughter Camping Trip

Posted by Cindy on June 2, 2009

The Mighty Gentle Squaws – that’s what they call themselves.  They’ve even composed a camp-style song for their group.  These four girls are such good friends and they began a twice yearly tradition last year that is wonderful, not only for them, but for their daddies as well.  Once in the fall and once in the spring, the girls and their daddies go on a camping trip together.  The spring trip took place this past weekend on the back of our farm.  Two nights, a little rain, a lot of mud, all meals cooked over an open fire, some hiking, fishing and a mud fight = a wonderful time!  (For those who didn’t have to clean up after their muddy little selves!)

I’m so thankful for godly friends for my daughter and godly daddies who are willing to take time out for their little girls.  I’m also thankful that the fall trip isn’t at my house!  LOL

Camping

Mahayla and one of her best buds have been planning a camping trip since January.  Yes, that’s FIVE months!  After many revised lists, faxes to one another and late nights on the phone planning, the trip finally happened this weekend.  The two girls and two other best buds (along with a couple of Dads and, to their dismay, a brother) spent two nights on the back of our farm.

The girls planned every single aspect of the trip and even raised money to buy all their supplies!  Now, for a planner like Mahayla, it was a tad difficult when a few plans had to be changed, but overall the trip was great!  It was even more great that I didn’t have to go!!  ;)
