I’ve written a post about all our wonderful fossil finds on a recent nature walk at ShiningDawnBooks.com.  Come see!

National Geographic Kit

Posted by Cindy on June 5, 2009

A friend gave my son a National Geographic Skelesaurus not too long ago.  I have eyed this and other similar kits at the store before, but had never purchased one.  It was so much fun!  Caleb had to build the skeleton (it wasn’t hard), then place clay around the skeleton to create skin, and then add skin texture with texture pads that came with the kit.  It ends up looking so real!  Best of all, you can take the whole thing apart and reuse it time and time again!  Great summer fun – thanks, Brooke!

Father – Daughter Camping Trip

Posted by Cindy on June 2, 2009

The Mighty Gentle Squaws – that’s what they call themselves.  They’ve even composed a camp-style song for their group.  These four girls are such good friends and they began a twice yearly tradition last year that is wonderful, not only for them, but for their daddies as well.  Once in the fall and once in the spring, the girls and their daddies go on a camping trip together.  The spring trip took place this past weekend on the back of our farm.  Two nights, a little rain, a lot of mud, all meals cooked over an open fire, some hiking, fishing and a mud fight = a wonderful time!  (For those who didn’t have to clean up after their muddy little selves!)

I’m so thankful for godly friends for my daughter and godly daddies who are willing to take time out for their little girls.  I’m also thankful that the fall trip isn’t at my house!  LOL
